Dandelion leaf and root have been widely used for skin conditions and joint problems. Dandelion is especially effective in cases where there are also underlying liver, bile and urinary factors.The root, particularly, is one of the safest and most efficatious ways to improve biliary elimination (choleresis) and relieve an overworked liver.

Seeds can be sown anytime from spring through to the autumn and should be spaced around 20 cm apart. Cold stratifying the seeds beforehand will increase the chances of germination. The seeds will require light for germination so press them lightly into the surface of the soil. Water regularly to keep the soil moist and the seeds should germinate within a couple of weeks

A few years back I also made my own Dandelion tea (during the Pandemic). It was thrilling! I followed the video above in foraging and cleaning, knowing exactly where I would get my dandelions at home. It was a special gratitute and appreciation for our nature and what it gives us. These pretty little flowers and plants that consistently arrive in Spring are work all our care and attention.
